PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a reduction in color reproducibility due to a change in the adhesion amount of transparent toner.SOLUTION: An image area separation unit 503a performs determination of character/non-character, chromatic/non-chromatic, dot/non-dot, and low-density dots for each pixel of an input image, and outputs a determination result as an image area separation result X. A glossiness addition unit 504a determines a glossiness addition amount T of transparent toner to be added to each pixel on the basis of image data and the image area separation result X, and an adhesion amount of chromatic color toner according to the adhesion amount of the transparent toner. |
