PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device in which one of independent telescopic and tilt shafts or a peripheral member is prevented from being deformed by an external force applied to the other of the telescopic and tilt shafts.SOLUTION: In a steering device, an arcuate slot 211 is provided in a vehicle body side friction plate 21 of a support bracket 2, a reference block 43 is held between column side swivel friction plates 41, 42 protruding from a swivel bracket 3 rotatably supported by the support bracket 2 by means of a shaft, and column side forward/backward friction plates 51, 52 are fixed to a hold cylinder 12 externally fitted onto a hold side steering shaft 13 of a steering column 1. The right column side swivel friction plate 42 and the right column side forward/backward friction plate 52 are held integrally between a telescopic outer block 72 that a telescopic shaft 7 penetrates and the reference block 43, the vehicle body side friction plate 21 is held between a tilt outer block 63 that a tilt shaft 6 penetrates and a tilt intermediate block 62, and the left column side swivel friction plate 41 is held between the tilt intermediate block 62 and the reference block 43. |
