PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting raw blank inspection device and a casting raw blank inspection method, which can accurately determine whether or not an internal defect (for example, a cavity) is present in and near a region of a raw blank, formed by casting, to become later a processed surface before the processed surface is formed on the raw blank and can excellently determine whether the raw blank is a non-defective product or a defective product.SOLUTION: A casting raw blank inspection method includes: converting voxel data obtained by carrying out CT scanning on a raw blank into STL data (step S2); setting a virtual processed surface on the STL data (step S3); and, based upon the STL data, determining whether or not there are cavities in a region, including at least the virtual processed surface, of the raw blank, and determining that the raw blank is rejected when the number of cavities present in the region is larger than an allowed number or determining that the raw blank is accepted when the number of cavities present in the region is equal to or smaller than the allowed number (S4, S5). |
