Disclosed are a secondary battery and a method for manufacturing a secondary battery, which improves the safety by the filling of a hardened polymer. The method for manufacturing a secondary battery comprises the steps of: preparing polymer slurry by adding polymer particles to an electrolyte; injecting the polymer slurry into a battery case in which an electrode assembly is received; converting the polymer slurry into a polymer solution by heating the battery case; and hardening the polymer solution by cooling the battery case.
