<p>A transflective liquid crystal display device including, according to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display panel including first and second substrates, a plurality of gate lines and data lines on the first substrate defining a plurality of pixel regions, a thin film transistor at each pixel region, a black matrix and a color filter layer on the second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer between the first an second substrates; a first polarizer and a second polarizer; a backlight unit; a selective reflection film between the liquid crystal display panel and the second polarizer; and a first reflecting layer on at least one of the gate line and the data line of the liquid crystal display panel. The black matrix and the color filter layer include opened areas corresponding to the first reflecting layer so that the light reflected from the first reflecting layer is transmitted through the black matrix and the color filter layer through the opened portions.</p> |
