PURPOSE: An aerial part extract of Aruncus dioicus and a novel compound isolated from the same are provided to treat leukemia or acute lymphatic leukemia including Jurkat T leukemia cells. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for treating leukemia contains a compound of structural formula I, II, III, IV, or V or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound is isolated from an aerial part extract of Aruncus dioicus. The compound or the salt has antioxidation activity and/or cytotoxicity to Jurkat T cells. |
