The method involves carrying out transfer of a quantity of liquid nitrogen in a mixture tank (30) by a liquid nitrogen transfer line (11). Transfer of a quantity of liquid oxygen is carried out in the mixture tank, using a liquid oxygen transfer line (21). Quantities are allowed to reconstitute a main mixture in a range of determined oxygen content, in the tank. The tank is maintained in a waiting state during a rest period promoting stabilization of the constituted mixture for obtaining a required mixture at the end of the rest period.
