The device has a purge control module for controlling a canister of a vehicle, where the device is arranged for considering a value of variation of temperature i.e. ambient temperature, as a parameter influencing on movement of the vehicle in thermal mode. The device is arranged to cause a connection of moment of movement of the vehicle in thermal mode if the temperature variation taken into account is greater than a threshold, and to measure a temperature at a moment and another temperature at another moment and to compare the difference between the temperatures with a variation threshold. An independent claim is also included for a method for automatic control of movement for a thermo-electric hybrid car in thermal mode.
