PURPOSE: An arc control device of a molded case circuit breaker is provided to rapidly cool the arc that is generated while a circuit breaker blocks a fault current, and reduces the thermal gas being exhausted reversely, i.e. towards a movable contact, thereby improving a current-limiting function of the molded case circuit breaker. CONSTITUTION: An arc extinguishing device of a molded case circuit breaker comprises a case made of an insulation material; a stator fixed in a lower portion inside of the case and formed with a conductor that can induce a current to flow inwards; grids (130) stacked on the stator to form an arc extinction space to quench the arc; an arc chute (140) consisting of an insulation plate to fix the stacked grids; and a movable element with a side rotatably coupled to the case and with the other side accommodated in the arc extinction space of the grids, forming a selective contact point with the stator to limit the current. The arc chute is characterized by having an arc exhaust space larger than a reverse-exhaust space. |
