PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by efficiently carrying out an automatic initialization of data when a user of a water heater is changed or the water heater is defective.SOLUTION: A storage type water heater 1 includes a hot water storage tank 2, a heat pump unit 3, a bathtub 30 and a control unit 50 or the like. The control unit 50 includes a voltage drop detecting portion 51, a timing portion 52, a data holding portion 53 and a power failure time calculation portion 54 or the like. The control unit 50, when power supply to the water heater 1 is restarted after power supply stops, determines whether initialization of at least one part of the storage data stored in the data holding portion 53 needs to be initialized or not, and initializes the storage data when needed. Whereby, when power supply resumes from interruption or power failure of the power source, users of the water heater can efficiently initialize the necessary data without the users having to carry out troublesome manual operation, to be improved in convenience. |
