A method for providing a voice recognition function and an electronic device thereof are provided. The method provides a voice recognition function in an electronic device that includes outputting, when a voice instruction is input, a list of prediction instructions that are candidate instructions similar to the input voice instruction, updating, when a correction instruction correcting the output candidate instructions is input, the list of prediction instructions, and performing, if the correction instruction matches with an instruction of high similarity in the updated list of prediction instructions, a voice recognition function corresponding to the voice instruction. |
