PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a new liquid aryl group-containing polyorganosiloxane which is excellent in compatibility with an oil agent or a lipophilic component, causes no turbidness associated with hydrolysis when mixed with the oil agent even stored for a long period, achieves profound finish and is excellent in sustainability when used for cosmetics; a high refractive index composition with the oil agent; a cosmetic composition both using the polyorganosiloxane; and methods for producing them.SOLUTION: A liquid aryl group-containing polyorganosiloxane contains an arylsiloxy unit represented by RSiO(R is an aryl group) by 20-50 mol% of whole siloxy units constituting the polymer, and the mole number of the aryl groups to 1 mole of Si atom in the molecule is in a range of 1.20-1.65 in average. A composition of the polyorganosiloxane with an oil agent has a refractive index of 1.45 or higher as the whole composition, and has viscosity in a range of 100-100,000 mPa s as the whole composition. |
