PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable selection of permission or prohibition of operation of an airbag device for the rear seat head-on collision by the will of an occupant without increasing the number of parts.SOLUTION: A protection device includes: a child proof switch 1 that is provided on a door of a vehicle and makes the open operation of the door from inside of the vehicle prohibitable; a detection switch 7 that detects whether the child proof switch 1 is at a prohibiting position to prohibit the open operation of the door; and a control device 10 that controls permission or prohibition of operation of an airbag device 3 for the rear seat head-on collision based on the detection result of the detection switch 7. The control device 10 prohibits the operation of the airbag apparatus 3 for the rear seat head-on collision when it is detected by the detection switch 7 that the child proof switch 1 is at a prohibiting position to prohibit the open operation of the door. |
