PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open circuit protecting circuit, an open circuit protecting method, and an illuminating apparatus.SOLUTION: The open circuit protecting circuit is used for an apparatus with an LED load being supplied with power by a current source, and comprises: a switching circuit connected to both ends of the LED load in parallel; a timer circuit connected to the switching circuit; and a detecting circuit connected to the timer circuit and configured to detect an open circuit state of the LED load. In the case that the LED load malfunctions and becomes in the open circuit state, the open circuit protecting circuit carries out the operations so that the detecting circuit sends a start signal to the timer circuit, the timer circuit sends a drive signal over a set time to the switch circuit to turn on the switch circuit within the set time and to make the LED load be short circuited. Due to the present invention, when the malfunction is resolved, an electric circuit can automatically recover a normal state, and when all of a plurality of LED loads in a branch circuit are in bad contact with the electric circuit, or when no LED load is connected to the branch circuit, the other parts of the electric circuit are not damaged, and power consumption of the open circuit protecting circuit can be reduced. |
