PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formulation comprising a dipeptidylpeptidase (DPP)-IV inhibitor and metformin in the form of a free-flowing, cohesive tableting powder, capable of being easily granulated or compressed into a tablet.SOLUTION: A tablet comprises a DPP-IV inhibitor preferably vildagliptin and metformin, or in each case a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and contains between 50 to 96 wt.% on a dry weight basis of active ingredients. The metformin is preferably in the form of granules and wherein the granules contain a binder. The binder is selected from starches, celluloses and derivatives thereof, sucrose, or the like. The metformin is in the form of granules. The vildagliptin is in the form of particles. |
