PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter element capable of reducing the size of a whole element and reducing producing cost without deteriorating an appearance quality and a filtering performance and a method for producing the filter element.SOLUTION: A filter element 50 bisects an element housing space 11 into a flowing in space 11A housing the element housing space 11 to a flowing in channel 22 and a flowing out space 11B housing the same to a flowing out channel 23 housing space 11 in a filter case 10 and is detachably mounted in the element housing space to filter a fluid, and has a filtering material 70 folded into a bellows shape and formed into a substantial cylindrical shape, upper and lower end plates 90, 95 arranged respective end parts of the filtering material 70 in a cylinder axis detection, and a nonwoven cloth cover 80 wound around the outer periphery of the filtering material 70, the nonwoven cloth cover 80 is heat welded to mountain folded parts 71 open the outer peripheral side of the filtering material 70 and maintains the distance between the mountain folded parts 71. |
