PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding apparatus for forming an optical element by applying pressure to a glass material that is at a moldable temperature, wherein rotational position accuracy between incident/emitting planes is improved in the molding apparatus for forming the optical element by applying the pressure to the glass material that is at the moldable temperature.SOLUTION: A molding apparatus 8 for forming an optical element 2 by applying pressure to a glass material 12 that is at a moldable temperature is configured such that a flange part 10b is provided to an edge portion of a cylinder mold 10, and an engaging part 13 is provided to a portion where a base part 9b of a mold 9 and the flange part 10b abuts on each other. |
