[Problem] To provide an absorbent article with a surface sheet, which is capable of reducing dampness, prevents transmitted leakage of body fluids, reduces the surface area in contact with the skin, and feels soft to the skin. [Solution] An absorbent article (1) in which an absorbent (4) is interposed between a liquid permeable surface sheet (3) obtained from nonwoven fabric and a back surface sheet (2), wherein: the surface sheet (3) has ridge-shaped protrusions (7) that are at a specified interval in the width direction of the absorbent article (1) and are continuous in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article (1); punctate embossed cavities (8a, 8b) are provided alternately at positions adjacent to the right side and positions adjacent to the left side on both sides of each protrusion (7) at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article (1); and the embossed cavities (8a, 8b) are disposed in an overall zigzag pattern. For the protrusions (7), the sloped surface on one side is a sloped surface with a relatively steep slope and the sloped surface on the other side is a sloped surface with a relatively gentle slope, and the shape of transverse cross-sections of the protrusions (7) is a shape with left-right asymmetry. |
