The invention relates to a method for preparing a mixture including seeds of at least one species of the Theobroma genus and fragmented carob pods, characterised by comprising the following steps: producing an initial mixture including said seeds and said fragmented carob pods, the latter constituting 2.5% to 25% of the initial mixture; and alkalising said initial mixture in order to obtain an alkalised mixture, in particular a mixture including cocoa and fragmented carob pods.
