PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a predetermined packet received via a network while maintaining an information processing apparatus having an electric power saving mode function to be in the electric power saving mode.SOLUTION: A network controller 24 of a general-purpose processor 20 as a control unit having a CPU 21 is connected to a PHY 15 as a connecting unit to a network via a packet processing unit 40. When the general-purpose processor 20 or the like is in an electric power saving mode, a packet received from the PHY15 is processed by the packet processing unit 40 without the CPU 21. The packet processing unit 40, in response to the received packet, outputs a signal J for abandoning an unnecessary packet, preparing and transmitting a response packet, or changing an electric power mode of the general-purpose processor 20 or the like. |
