PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cord formed by twisting purified polysaccharide fibers produced by using a raw material capable of suppressing carbon disulfide emission and having less environmental load, and can impart both durability and external damage resistance to a tire, and a tire including the same and excellent in tire characteristics.SOLUTION: The cord is formed by twisting purified polysaccharide fibers made by: contacting a polysaccharide solution obtained by dissolving a polysaccharide raw material in a liquid containing an ion solution with a solidifying liquid and spinning the polysaccharide. The relation between a strength TB (cN/dtex) and an elongation at break EB (%) at 25°C of the purified polysaccharide fiber satisfies the following formula (1) and the following formula (2), and when the strength of the cord is defined as CT (cN/dtex), the strength utilization rate after twisting (CT/TB) is 70% or more. |
