PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for controlling data transmission in a wireless communication system on the basis of hybrid automatic retransmission (HARQ).SOLUTION: User equipment (UE) determines the number (Z) of HARQ processes supported by the UE, e.g., on the basis of the amount of resources available at the UE. The UE sends information indicative of the number of HARQ processes supported by the UE to a Node B. The UE thereafter receives information from the Node B on up to Z HARQ processes. For example, the UE receives data for non-guaranteed bit rate (non-GBR) traffic on up to Z HARQ processes, and receives data for guaranteed bit rate (GBR) traffic on up to all HARQ processes available in the system. |
