This display device is an optically transmissive type and displays added information added to real environment seen by a user. Said display device is provided with the following: a position detection means that detects a specific position in the real environment; a calibration means that, by obtaining a correspondence between said specific position in the real environment and a specific position on a display device, computes calibration data for converting from a first coordinate system used by the position detection means at the specific position in the real environment to a second coordinate system used by the display device; and a determination means that, on the basis of an image of the real environment taken by an imaging device, determines a natural feature point that exists in the real environment and is suitable for the computation of the calibration data. The specific position in the real environment for use by the calibration means is identified by using the position detection means to detect the position of the natural feature point determined by the determination means.
