An apparatus for displaying an ultrasonic image and information associated with the image includes a storage unit which stores a plurality of cross-section images of a plurality of scanned cross-sections of a target object and a plurality of pieces of image-related information respectively associated with the plurality of cross-section images, an image acquisition unit which acquires an ultrasonic image of the target object, a selection unit which selects at least one of the plurality of cross-section images based on a similarity between the ultrasonic image and each of the plurality of cross-section images, an extraction unit which extracts image-related information associated with the selected cross-section image from the storage unit, and a display unit which displays the extracted image-related information and the acquired ultrasonic image. |
