PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring device capable of detecting the amount of movement of an animal (pet) without placing a burden on the animal, while enabling the owner to check detection results away from home.SOLUTION: The movement of a pet is detected from changes in images picked up with a camera 14, the pet's calls and indoor temperature are detected, and the detection results are stored one by one (S610 to S640). The amount X of movement of the pet, the number of times (or frequency) that the pet has called, and the indoor temperature (average value) are calculated on the basis of the detection results at every set monitoring time, and these parameters are calculated as monitored data and stored in memory (S680). If the monitored data are requested from an external communication terminal, the monitored data are read from the memory and sent to the communication terminal. |
