PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that it requires time and labor for manually switching image input of an image display unit on starting a television conference.SOLUTION: A television conference system comprises a communication unit, an image input unit, a voice input unit, a voice output unit, an image display unit, a television conference terminal, an operation input unit, and a control unit. When the operation input unit detects a user's operation instructing the system to start a television conference, the control unit calls another television conference system via the communication unit and communicatively connects its own television conference system and another television conference system, and also transmits to the image display unit a switching signal instructing the image display unit to switch to first image input. The television conference terminal encodes image signals and voice signals of a user of its own system and transmits the encoded signals to the other television conference system via the communication unit, and also decodes encoded image signals and voice signals received from the other television conference system via the communication unit and outputs the decoded signals to the first image input and the voice output unit. |
