A cutting insert (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with an upper surface (3), a lower surface (5), a side surface (7), and an upper cutting blade (9). The upper cutting blade (9) comprises a first main cutting blade (23) of which the outer side has a curved convex shape, and a first secondary cutting blade (25) that has a linear shape and that is contiguous with the first main cutting blade (23). The side surface (7) comprises a first inclined surface (35) that is a section connected to the first main cutting blade (23), and that is inclined toward the outside from the upper surface (3) toward the lower surface (5) with respect to a virtual straight line that connects the center of the upper surface (3) and the center of the lower surface (5). The inclination angle of the inclined surface (35) of the side surface (7) with respect to the virtual straight line increases from the section connected to the end of the first main cutting blade (23) as proximity to the section connected to the center of the first main cutting blade (23) increases. |
