The device (1) has a wiper motor (2) for driving a wiper linkage over a wiper driven shaft (5). The wiper linkage comprises a pin jointed strut operating a wiper arm. An aperture is formed at flat end regions of the pin jointed strut. The aperture is provided with a socket pad. Internal diameter of the aperture is slightly smaller than outer diameter of an assembly region of the socket pad in the end regions of the pin jointed strut such that the socket pad is attached into the device by simply inserting and clipping the socket pad into the opening.
