PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a characteristics obtaining method for a fuel injection valve for obtaining injecting characteristics with a higher degree of accuracy.SOLUTION: A standard injection rate wave shape Ram is set at a reference point with different injection amounts Q and a prescribed number of adjusting points are selected from the reference points. An injection rate wave shape Ra of an injector 20 is obtained at each adjusting point. An injection rate wave shape deviation &Dgr;Ra which is a deviation between the standard injection rate wave shape Ram and the obtained injection rate wave shape Ra is calculated at each adjusting point and an interpolation point among a prescribed number of adjusting points is selected. The injection rate wave shape deviation &Dgr;Ra is interpolated using the calculated injection rate wave shape deviation &Dgr;Ra at the interpolation point. The injection rate wave shape Ra is obtained at the interpolation point from the standard injection rate wave shape Ram at the interpolation point and the interpolated injection rate wave shape deviation &Dgr;Ra. A driving time Tq is calculated from the obtained injection rate wave shape Ra at the interpolation point. |
