A method for measuring a traffic performance indicator, comprising: a transmission side device constructing a measurement packet, the measurement packet being used to trigger a reception side device to measure a performance indicator of traffic, and the measurement packet and a packet of the traffic having a same forwarding property; and sending the measurement packet to the reception side. The method uses the measurement packet having the same forwarding property as the packet of the traffic, so as to solve the problem in the prior art of the inaccurate measured performance indicator.
