PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a carbon nanotube without using raw materials derived from fossil fuel.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a carbon nanotube from wood includes: a step of gasifying wood to obtain a gas; a step of subjecting the gas to dry refining to obtain a refined gas; a step of decarboxylating the refined gas to obtain a decarboxylated gas; and a step of reacting the decarboxylated gas at a temperature of higher than 850°C and 1,200°C or lower in a furnace to obtain a carbon nanotube.
