PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in a scene to confirm an aiming position, an apparatus is hard to use because there may be a case of excess feeding, if a constant amount of forward feeding or reverse feeding is always performed as in the traditional way.SOLUTION: An arc welding apparatus 101 includes a wire feeding control means RC which is capable of forward feeding to feed a welding wire 1 in a direction nearing to a base material 2 or reverse feeding to feed it in a direction departing from the base material, a calculating means RC which calculates the feeding amount when a feeding operation is performed, and a storage means RC which stores the calculated feeding amount. The wire feeding control means performs a restoration motion to feed the welding wire as much as the feeding amount in a reverse direction, when the feeding operation in a direction in reverse to that of the time when the feeding amount is stored is performed. For example, in the case of teaching and correcting the aiming position, since it is easy to restore the temporarily reversely fed welding wire to a state before the reverse feeding by a simple operation with a purpose to avoid a projection on the base material formed by tacking etc., it is possible to make easy the correcting work and the confirmation work of the aiming position. |
