PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that properly corrects a displacement between beams, and controls occurrence of an image failure of a moire etc.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus adopts a multibeam method. A CPU 501 calculates a writing adjustment value (insertion-extraction number b) and a partial magnification adjustment value (insertion-extraction number b) based on dot position information that is the read correction data, and sets them to a writing adjustment part 503 and a partial magnification adjustment part 504 of a dot position adjustment part 510. In image forming, the CPU 501 generates the drive data for each light emitting element of the semiconductor laser based on the input image data, and in addition, generates the drive signal concerning the light emitting element emitting the reference beam based on the drive data, and generates the drive signal concerning the light emitting element emitting beams other than the reference based on the drive data and each adjustment value. |
