The present invention efficiently removes radioactive strontium from waste water containing radioactive strontium. In this treatment method for waste water containing radioactive strontium, the adsorption of radioactive strontium in waste water by a powdered alkali metal titanate is achieved by stirring together waste water containing radioactive strontium and the powdered alkali metal titanate in a reaction tank equipped with a stirring device, after which the powdered alkali metal titanate that has adsorbed the radioactive strontium is subjected to solid/liquid separation. By adding the alkali metal titanate powder directly to the waste water containing radioactive strontium and dispersing said powder therein, it is possible to efficiently adsorb and remove the radioactive strontium and thereby effectively reduce the amount of radiation in the treated water.
