The present invention provides a crown structure that is suitable for use in glass melting furnaces and that, even when employed in a glass melting furnace in which the internal temperature reaches around 1,650ºC, can effectively prevent gas leakage from the furnace. The crown structure (1) comprises: a corrosion-resistant layer (2) which comprises a plurality of refractory blocks (2a) disposed in a vault shape arrangement on the side facing the inside of a glass melting furnace; and a layer (3) for blocking gas leakage which comprises a plurality of heat-insulating blocks (3a) disposed as a layer overlying the refractory blocks (2a) of the corrosion-resistant layer (2), a dense monolithic refractory (3b) disposed so as to cover at least the joints between the refractory blocks (2a), and a lightweight heat-insulating monolithic refractory (3c) disposed on the dense monolithic refractory (3b) so as to fill up the spaces formed by the heat-insulating blocks and the dense monolithic refractory. |
