<p>A scalable energy storage system (10) which is connectable to an energy source includes one or more insulated energy storage vessels (14), each storage vessel having an input and an output and connected serially or in parallel, where two or more are used, and containing a fluid energy storage medium (16); and a power source (12), e.g., solar, wind, electrical, green, biomass, in communication with an input of each storage vessel, and being connectable to an energy conversion means (18), e.g., ORC, for converting the stored energy into usable electric power. When energy storage vessels are connected in parallel, one or more energy storage vessels may be connected serially to create serial links within the parallel arrangement, wherein the power source is connected to the input of each parallel energy storage vessel, and the output of each energy storage vessel serially- connected to the parallel energy storage vessel is connected to the energy conversion means.</p> |
