Microorganism capable of reducing methane produced by ruminant animals and its uses

PURPOSE: A microorganism formulation containing Proteiniphilium acetatigenes SROD1 is provided to basically reduce methane which mainly causes global warming, and to enhance feed usability. CONSTITUTION: Proteiniphilium acetatigenes SROD1(KCCM11219P) generates reductive acetic acid, and suppresses methane generation in ruminant stomach of ruminant animals. A microorganism formulation for suppressing methane generation of ruminant stomach of ruminant animals contains the strain. Feed for livestock contains the microorganism formulation. A method for suppressing methane generation comprises a step of feeding the microorganism formulation to animals.
