394,194. Slide-rests and other crossslides. CUSTANCE, W. L., 95, Queen Victoria Street, London. Oct. 4, 1932, No. 27565. [Class 83 (iii).] A cross-slide comprises a table bearing directly on the flat surface of a bed and means resting above the same flat surface for guiding the table in straight line directions transverse to one another on the bed. The cross-slide 12, Fig. 1, the feet 7, 8 of which bear directly on slideways 2, 3 of the machine bed 1, is guided by an intermediate member 4. Recesses 16, 17 in the underside of this member engage the slideways of the bed and recesses 10, 11 in the upper face guide the cross slide in its transverse movements, the intersection of these recesses exposing a portion of the bed slideways upon which the cross-slide bears. |
