PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove various bacteria attached to clothes.SOLUTION: A clothes dryer includes: blowing means 9 which blows drying air into a drum 1; a circulation air path 12 which introduces the drying air blown from the blowing means 9 into the drum 1; heating means 5 and 16 which heat the drying air; cloth quantity detection means 17 which detects the quantity of the clothes put into the drum 1; cloth quality detection means 18 which detects the cloth quality of the clothes put into the drum 1; and control means 21 which controls drying operation. The heating means 5 and 16 have a first temperature which is set at the time of drying operation and a second temperature which is higher than the first temperature and which is set at the time of bacteria removing operation. The control means 21 allows execution of bacteria removing operation by heating the drying air up to the second temperature in the case where the ratio of cloth high in hygroscopic property is large in the cloth quality of the clothes detected by the cloth quality detection means 18. |
