PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a used paper recycling apparatus capable of easily and reliably removing foreign matters remaining on a surface of a conveying belt with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A foreign matter removal device includes a scraper 400 and a scraper drive unit for driving the scraper. The scraper is provided so as to freely contact and separate from a conveying surface of a smooth surface belt 43, has a flat plate shape extending in a width direction of the smooth surface belt 43 and has a plurality of slits extending in a plate width direction along a conveying direction of wet paper 100 from a contact end edge in contact with the conveying surface of the smooth surface belt 43, the contact end edge being divided into a plurality of pieces by the slits. The scraper drive unit swingably drives the scraper between a contact position where the contact end edge of the scraper contacts the conveying surface and a retreat position where the contact end is separated from the conveying surface, and slides the scraper in the width direction of the smooth surface belt 43. |
