PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a therapeutic effect of cancer chemotherapy quickly, simply, and accurately before performing the cancer chemotherapy with an anticancer drug (hereinafter, it is referred to as S-1) obtained by blending three ingredients of tegafur, gimeracil, and oteracil potassium as active ingredients.SOLUTION: A method for determining an administration effect in cancer chemotherapy with S-1 comprises: a step a of measuring an expression of a decorin gene in a biological sample collected from a subject to be diagnosed; and a step b of determining an administration effect of S-1 on the basis of the expression level of the gene obtained as a measurement result.
