An axial fan assembly includes a hub (12,14), a plurality of connection structures (40), and a plurality of isolated members (48). The hub (12,14) is rotatable about an axis of rotation (18) and includes a radially extending face (24) and a cylindrical portion (20) extending axially from the face (24). The face (24) includes a radially inner face portion (32) and a radially outer face portion (36). The plurality of connection structures (36) extend radially inwardly from the radially outer face portion (36) and radially outward from the radially inner face portion (32). The plurality of isolated members (48) extend radially outwardly from the radially inner face portion (32) and they are isolated from the plurality of connection structures (40) and from the radially outer face portion (36) by a plurality of slots (72).
