PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve a difference in time to reach a ready temperature between a belt member and a nip forming member to reduce a time required to start fixing during image formation, and thereby accelerating speed of image formation.SOLUTION: A fixing device of an embodiment comprises: a fixing unit that comprises a fixing rotating part, and a pressure part applying pressure to the fixing rotating part; a drive unit that drives the fixing unit; and a control unit that controls, when a temperature difference between the fixing rotating part and the pressure part is equal to or larger than a predetermined value, the drive unit to reduce the driving speed of the fixing unit in a recovery mode. |
