PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data inspection device and an image data inspection method by which linear defects extending in a predetermined direction can be accurately detected from image data by suppressing the effect of noise.SOLUTION: An image data inspection device 1 includes: a boundary detection unit 3 that detects a boundary having a pixel value that sharply changes relative to a pixel array comprising pixels arranged in a predetermined direction in image data; and a comparison unit 4 that classifies the pixels of the pixel array into a plurality of groups in the boundary, and statistically compares pixel values of the pixels belonging to the respective groups between groups, so as to detect linear defects extending in a predetermined direction from the pixel array. |
