PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remover for a nail coating agent and a removing method using the same having both high removing properties for a nail coating agent and low damaging properties to nails and skin.SOLUTION: A remover for a nail coating agent includes: an alkylene carbonate (A) and a compound (B) represented by general formula (b1) [wherein Ris CHOH or CHOCH; and Ris H, CHOCHor OCH]. A mass ratio (A)/(B) of the alkylene carbonate (A) to the compound (B) ranges from 70/30 to 95/5, and the total amount of the alkylene carbonate (A) and the compound (B) is 40-70 mass%.
