A vehicle-mounted apparatus (1), which is a wireless communication apparatus, comprises: a wireless communication unit (16) that can perform wireless communications using at least a band of 5 GHz; a current-location detection unit (11) that detects the current location of the vehicle-mounted apparatus; and a wireless communication area prediction unit (15) that, while the wireless communication unit (16) is communicating, determines, on the basis of interference data (13), which is information related to the coverage of radio waves transmitted from another system using the band of 5 GHz and transmitting/receiving radio waves at a standstill, geographic data (14) and the current location detected by the current-location detection unit (11), whether switching channels of the wireless communication unit (16) is necessary or not, and that, if that switching is necessary, further directly selects a switching destination channel or causes the wireless communication unit (16) to select the switching destination channel. |
