373,356. Raising and lowering street lamps. KROHN, F., 8, Liinebergerstrasse, Essen-West, Germany. April 17, 1931, No. 11424. Convention date, April 17, 1930. [Class 78 (iv).] In a device for raising and traversing street lamps, a lamp a, Fig. 1, is suspended from a trolley c, Figs. 1 and 2, by a rope m<1> wound on a drum m, the trolley being moved along a rope b by an endless cable d which is wound once round a drum f rigidly connected with the drum m. The drum m is normally locked against rotation by lugs i, Figs. 2 and 3, engaging slotted slides s, pivoted to a member q mounted on the axis q<1> of a spring-controlled lever n, n<1>. On rotating a handle k of a drum i, the cable d pulls the trolley along until the arm n engages an.abutment o and the slides s, sliding on pins t, are withdrawn from the path of the lugs v thereby allowing the drum m to rotate and the lamp to be lowered. When the handle k is rotated in the reverse direction, the lamp is raised until it abuts the trolley c when further rotation of the drum m is prevented and the trolley is moved along the rope b to its normal position. The drum m is locked again by the slides s when the arm n has moved away from the abutment o. |
