The battery (1) has the battery modules and/or cells (3) that are arranged in a battery housing (2). The component which is predominantly subjected to pressure, is equipped in the battery housing and is provided with a desiccant with moisture adsorbing properties. A support portion (5) of component is provided to support the battery modules and/or cells within battery housing. The spacers (4) of the component are formed between battery modules and/or cells. The drying agent is metal, silicate, clay-based molecular sieve-forming material, foamed plastic or zeolite.
