This dye-sensitized solar cell comprises: a working electrode having a porous titanium oxide layer upon a conductive substrate through which light can be transmitted; a counter electrode arranged so as to face the working electrode; a photosensitized dye supported by the porous titanium oxide layer in the working electrode; and an electrolyte arranged between the working electrode and the counter electrode. The porous titanium oxide layer includes a rutile crystal-containing layer including an anatase crystal-type titanium oxide comprising anatase crystals and a spherical rutile crystal-type titanium oxide comprising rutile crystals. The rutile crystal-type titanium oxide content in the rutile crystal-containing layer is 3-15% by mass. |
