PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can read an image accurately, even when a plurality of white LEDs having variation are used as a light source.SOLUTION: A plurality of white LEDs is arranged as a light source in a light irradiation section 1. A coefficient matrix to be used at a correction section 6 is calculated by a coefficient matrix calculation section 4 by means of a calculation formula in accordance with variation of respective white LEDs 11 provided in a light irradiation section 1 using, for example, a value of blue when reading the reference color of yellow at a read section 2, for each read area corresponding to the area position information, and the calculated result is held at a coefficient matrix holding section 5. When an image is read at the read section 2, a coefficient matrix calculated in the coefficient matrix calculation section 4 for the area is read from the coefficient matrix holding section 5 for each area thus read, and correction processing is performed at the correction section 6 using the coefficient matrix. |
